What is Lipo-B?

W8MD’s Lipo-B refers to vitamin B12 plus methionine, inositol and choline. These compounds have roles in normal metabolism, but an injection should not be described as a “fat burner,” and evidence that the combination independently causes meaningful weight loss is limited.

Where it may fit

For a patient with documented or suspected B12 deficiency, the B12 component may address a medical need. The additional ingredients are optional wellness components and generally are not covered by insurance.

How W8MD protects the plan

The clinician reviews allergies, medications, pregnancy, liver and kidney history, B12 testing when relevant and the overall weight-management program. Lipo-B does not replace calorie structure, protein, activity, sleep treatment or an indicated prescription.
